San Francisco -There is an alert from a lawyer specializing in injury, M. Alexander regarding a lawsuit filed by the family of the teen, Carlos Sousa, aged 17, who was killed in last year’s attack by the Siberian Tiger which escaped from its San Francisco Zoo enclosure fence.
Sousa died while trying to save his friend Paul Dhaliwal and brother Kulbir. He had to sacrifice his life due to his heroic and selfless act.
Alexander is with Mary Alexander and Associates law firm in Bay Area. She specializes in personal injury and wrongful deaths for California residents. She outlines and blames this incident on the serious negligence of the zoo security authorities.
Walls of exhibits housing big cats are required to be at least 16.4 feet as stipulated by the Zoo and Aquariums association. The enclosure which the Siberian Tiger Tatiana jumped in San Francisco zoo measured only 12.5 inches according to Alexander. This in itself is a serious security lapse which puts the zoo workers at a great risk.
Alexander said that there was a failure by the zoo authorities to protect lovers of animals by not following the national guidelines in a proper manner. According to Alexander, the filing of lawsuit follows a rejection of a compensation claim by the City of San Francisco officials from the Sousa family. The family had filed for compensation claims for the heroic death of their son Carlos.
The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in the Superior Court of San Francisco. Alexander informs the public that injury caused due to authority negligence by animals in a zoo are entitled for compensation.
