Lexus LS Tops All Vehicles in J.D. Power 2015 Initial Quality Study

Flagship Luxury Sedan Stands Out Among 2015 Models

WATERTOWN, Mass., 07/03/2015 /SubmitPressRelease123/

When car buyers invest in a luxury automaker’s flagship vehicle, they don’t expect to experience many problems in the first three months of ownership, but it happens more than often than some brands would like to admit. According to the J.D. Power 2015 Initial Quality Study (IQS), the 2015 Lexus LS flagship is not only the best in its class at avoiding those pitfalls, but also the best of all vehicles on the market.

For its 2015 IQS, J.D. Power looked at the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) for each new 2015 model, surveying more than 84,000 owners and lessees who had been with their rides for 90 days. After in-depth feedback was retrieved in eight vehicle problem areas, the Lexus LS received a score of 61 PP100, outperforming the BMW 7 Series and Porsche Panamera in the Large Premium Car segment, as well as every other vehicle in the study.

“By its definition, a flagship vehicle should represent the very best that an automaker has to offer. The Lexus LS lives up to those expectations in every area, including initial quality,” said Vincent Liuzzi, general manager of Lexus of Watertown, a Massachusetts Lexus dealer. “The same can’t be said about some other luxury flagships, which require more trips to the repair shop than vehicles that cost several thousand dollars less.”

The 2015 Lexus LS 460 provides drivers with smooth, swift and nearly silent acceleration through its standard 386-horsepower 4.6-liter V8 engine. For a more aggressive look and feel, buyers can opt for an F SPORT package that features a blacked-out spindle grille, bolstered front seats, paddle shifters, aluminum pedals, high-performance Brembo brakes and a limited-slip rear differential on rear-wheel-drive models. If all those upgrades still won’t suffice, the 2015 Lexus LS 600h L hybrid sits atop the flagship range with 438 total system horsepower and high-end amenities like a standard four-zone Climate Concierge and an available massaging executive-class rear-right seat.
