New York – Actor Kelsey Grammer recently opened up in an interview about his prolonged feelings of guilt following the death of his sister in 1975. Grammer’s younger sister Karen was abducted and killed by Freddie Glenn, who has since been convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
Grammer addressed the parole board last year about Glenn’s review for parole release expressing his belief that he should remain in prison despite appearing remorseful for the crimes.
The actor stated to Vanity Fair in his recent interview about the ordeal, “I believe the gift of life and freedom he took from my sister precludes him from ever being allowed to enjoy that gift for himself.
“He took her future from her with no regard for her whatsoever. He assumed he had a right to do so. He assumed she was his property, and that the precious gift God gave her was his to take.”
He said regarding his feelings of guilt over Karen Grammer’s death, “I know a lot of people who’ve lost their siblings and blame themselves… It’s hard to explain. It’s not rational. But it happens anyway.”
Grammer also stated that in having experienced the tragedies he has in life he has gained more of an appreciation for it.
