Vancouver,WA. 2014 – Vancouver, Washington is in for a treat. Marcus ‘Big Spence‘ Spencer will be flying in from L.A., for the showing of his film, “Set Me Free” at the Columbia Gorge International Film Festival on August 16th. Columbia Gorge is just one of many film festivals that have been showing Spencer’s film. “Set Me Free” opened this past April 2014 at the Oakland International Film Festival. The film has had a tremendous response since it first premiered. Big Spence plans on being at the Columbia Gorge International Film Festival to greet fans and answer any questions they may have for him.

Marcus ‘Big Spence’ Spencer has always loved to act, write, produce and now direct. He’s a man who loves a good story and loves to tell stories himself. His love of story telling was one of the reasons he decided to write and direct his film, “Set Me Free”. Based loosely on Spencer’s own life story, he set out on a mission to give his audience a message. With “Set Me Free” he was able to tell more than one story and gift the audience with more than one lesson. “Set Me Free” is a story filled with thought provoking scenes. It shows the audience struggle, challenge, love, faith and how important education is. Spencer puts a lot of thought into his films. His goal is not only to entertain people but to always have them leave the film contemplating the moral and educational lessons that he slips into the story of the film.

Being able to direct his film gave Big Spence a chance to help cast the people he thought would fit the parts, as well as be able to take direction from him. It was important to him that each cast member portray the aspects of his life in a closely accurate manner. Although the film is based off his own life story, Spencer still opted to add the ‘Hollywood flare’ of entertainment. The combination of flare and truth obviously worked because “Set Me Free” is being picked up world wide.

If you are in the Vancouver, Washington area on August 16th,2014 be sure to catch the showing of “Set Me Free”. The film will be showing at 901 C. Street, Vancouver, Washington at 4 p.m. Stop by and say hello to Actor/Director Marcus “Big Spence” Spencer.
