Online fiction retailer the Book People has signed a major sponsorship deal with Bangor City Football Club, with the club now being called the Book People Stadium.
The book wholesaler has been based in the city of Bangor since 2002, having both a warehouse and a Customer Service centre in the Welsh city. The stadium, which was previously known as Nantporth, became the home for Bangor City Football Club in January 2012, and the club is eager to continue its growth within the newly-named stadium.
The sponsorship deal will last for three years at present and will aid the Welsh Premier side financially, with the Book People’s logo will appear on the stadium itself as well as on the players’ kit.
Of the deal Bangor City FC Commercial Manager, Brian Harvey said: “It’s a massive boost for the club, the supporters and everyone associated with the club. After a long period of negotiation, we are proud to announce this deal with the Book People, which is in the best interest of Bangor City Football Club.”
Meanwhile, the Book People’s Chairman Ted Smart said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for the football club, the Book People and the local community in Bangor. The Book People has always been extremely community focused and we felt this was a fantastic opportunity to give something back to a community we are proud to be part of.”
