Roseville Minnesota residents might just see a familiar face courtside at the 2012 Olympic games. As the crowds cheer on their favorite US wrestler, judoka,or weight lifter, Dr. Scott Halida will be poised, ready and waiting, to deliver power enhancing chiropractic adjustments to these superstar athletes.
Halida is one of fewer than 80 elite, highly trained, doctors of chiropractic headed to the Olympic games as part of the Maximized Living corps – official team chiropractors for wrestling, weight lifting, judo, and sitting volleyball. It’s the first time a large group of chiropractors has been invited to work alongside team doctors and trainers, and Dr. Halida will play an integral part in the action.
The opportunity to work with the athletes of Team USA is available to Halida because of his affiliation with the chiropractic group, Maximized Living. As members of the national judo and weightlifting teams realized positive results working with Maximized Living, other sports quickly reached out to the organization. Since 2009, Maximized Living Sports Council doctors have worked closely with several national governing bodies to deliver a holistic, whole-athlete approach to wellness that incorporates chiropractic principles, balanced nutrition, mental preparedness and fitness programs designed to build strength, endurance and enhanced performance.

The Maximized Living Sports Council was a vision nurtured by founder Dr. Ben Lerner. A former all-American wrestler, Dr. Lerner bridged a gap in performance management by creating the first and largest certified network of Chiropractors trained in whole-athlete care. Maximized Living Sports Council Doctors are certified in advanced chiropractic techniques, nutrition, detoxification, exercise and mental preparedness.
“I’m expecting it to be incredibly rewarding to watch these world class athletes compete at the highest level. It’s an honor to be working with and supporting them at the Games,” says Halida, adding, “In the past, as I’ve worked with the athletes at the training center in Colorado I’ve seen their performance increase while their recovery time decreased. The Five Essentials are a vital ingredient in the training and healing process.”
Just as the athletes spend years working to achieve the high level of skill so too do the Maximized Living doctors. “I train hard through classes, seminars, and regular coaching from the best chiropractors in the world to be up to date on cutting edge diagnostic and treatment techniques. Out of a thousand Maximized Living doctors eighty are certified and chosen to go to London,” Halida stated. “But it’s not just about the Olympics and winning medals – it’s about creating relationships and changing lives. The lives of the athletes and their friends and family and the lives of our patients right here at home in Roseville.”
