The domain name represents the latest in a string of similar acquisitions for the firm who recently acquired digitalsignagesoftware.com. The domain name should help solidify the company’s online presence within an ever-changing and technical industry.
Similar to broadcasting, narrowcasting technology allows for advertisers to directly target various demographics in a much more defined way. Traditionally, narrowcasting has been used broadly to encompass a number of technologies, including remotely-managed digital signage. More recently, it has become one of a number of terms used by the digital signage community as a industry buzzword.
Nathan Nead, DigitalSignage.com company president explains, “it initially took some time for the industry to solidify what it would be called. The term “narrowcasting” was among the differing terms used when the industry was more nascent. We expect the term may ultimately fade as the industry more fully moves toward digital signage, but the acquisition should be helpful in further codifying our online marketing strategy.”
The domain acquisition comes at a time when the company is seeing a large increase in interest and purchases of its technology. Much of the growth is due in part to the ownership of key web properties that help to drive very targeted online traffic. “We expect to continue to see large interest in narrowcasting software and hardware solutions, especially as the market continues to recover over the next decade. We plan on being there every step of the way,” Nead says.
