05/24/2012 (press release: Online PR) // The Book People

With the Queen’s Jubilee and the London Olympics already noted down on everyone’s calendars, the UK is set to have one of the best summers yet and the Book People has launched its Best of British event to celebrate all things British.

The Book People’s Best of British will include all manner of competitions, prize draws and British-themed events that will remind us all of just why this country is so incredible. The event started on the 17 May with a competition to win a Fortnum and Mason’s hamper, stuffed full of goodies including signed books and Jubilee memorabilia. The bookseller kicked things off with a new section on its site that is dedicated to the best British titles around.

Customers will be able to browse through a range of books written by British authors, both past and present; and can benefit from the same low prices for cheap fiction that keep people coming back to the Book People time and again for. Along with this British book category, a range of British-themed competitions are set to be announced over the coming weeks.

One of the many competitions that customers will be able to enter into includes the Book People’s Fortnum & Mason hamper prize draw, which will run to mid-June. Applicants will have a chance to win one of Fortnum & Mason’s decidedly British hampers and further details of the competition will be revealed on the Book People’s main website, as well as on its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TheBookPeopleLtd), Twitter (@TheBookPeople) and via a newsletter.

Other competitions from the Book People will run alongside the Olympics and the August bank holiday and those interested should head for the bookseller’s website and social networking pages now to find out more.

Lindsay Eyers of the Book People said: “This summer is going to be one of the biggest and best in the UK in recent years thanks to the many events we all have to look forward to, such as the Queen’s Jubilee, the Olympics, Wimbledon and Euro 2012.

“Our Best of British has been designed to bring all of this to the forefront of everyone’s minds and we hope everyone thoroughly enjoys the competitions, discussions, and prize draws we have lined up!”
