U.S. Senators Ask for Inquiry into Employer Requested Facebook Passwords

Two U.S. senators want an investigation into whether employers asking for Facebook passwords during job interviews are violating federal law.

This is a total invasion of privacy on all levels. I believe an employer has every right to look at anything on Facebook that is available for public viewing, but asking for the user names and passwords is plain invasion of privacy. If the feds decide that this is not illegal, then it will completely change the hiring process and job landscape.
