As Texting Ban Gains Support, Some Say Insurance Shouldn’t Cover Claims

Some people say insurance companies shouldn’t cover accidents caused by texting drivers to help curtail the problem.

I have to agree with the author and insurance specialist. An accident is an accident, regardless if it is illegal or not. Drunk driving accidents are still covered by insurance companies, and so should texting-related crashes. If insurance companies did not cover these types of accidents, then the incentive of purchasing insurance would be lower among consumers.
