Sure, there are a lot of irresponsible doctors who freely prescribe pain medications — like the doctors in Florida’s “pill mill.” But, I strongly believe that it’s not the doctors who are fueling the epidemic, it’s the patients who are legitimately getting the prescriptions and then selling them on the street to turn a high profit. Money talks, and it talks to people who don’t necessarily want to take the pills, and would rather sell the pain killers to make a couple hundred dollars cash.
