/EINPresswire.com/ New York City,NY October 28, 2011 – In the following,sister and brother, National Press Club Members, Nancy Hart and William M. Hart recall a visit to Monaco native and renowned photographer, Silas Shabelewska’s exhibit “The Monte Carlo Series Early Works From 1980” at New York City’s Soufer Gallery which ends on October 29, 2011.
What we viewed were twelve black and white photographs that the then seventeen year old, Ms. Shabelewska took of her friends at unoccupied villas in Monaco.What we also saw was Ms. Shabelewska’s rare talent for capturing the truth of youthful play and in some photographs youthful play inherent with a budding seductiveness.Ms. Shabelewska has managed for us too, to discover and recall the carefree abandon of youth and discovery while observing the subjects interaction with the surrounding light and furnishings. This is the first time that these
black and white silver gelatin photographs have been exhibited.
Silas Shabelewska has a distinguished career and is widely exhibited.Perhaps,best known among her works are her “PEACE & LOVE” photographs in which human beings form the “PEACE” symbol and the word “LOVE”.
In 2008, a “LOVE” photograph appeared in OPRAH Magazine (June 2008).Ms. Shabelewska credits photographer,Bob Martin with introducing her to the
silver gelatin photography process and for encouraging
her talent.You cannot help but be happy and intrigued by these palyfully seductive photographs. It was well
worth the visit and well worth watching the continuing successful career of Silas Shabelewska.
