The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/ discovered unsanitary conditions at the PCA plant in Plainview. Slim-Fast and the DSHS is concerned the federal and state violations, found at the peanut maker’s manufacturing facility, may have compromised the safety of the peanuts and cause harm to consumers who eat them. Slim-Fast recalled the following weight-loss food bars:
-Slim-Fast optima caramel crispy peanut MEAL on-the-go bars
-Slim-Fast MEAL OPTIONS breakfast & lunch bars-Dutch Chocolate flavor
-Slim-Fast MEAL OPTIONS Breakfast & Lunch bars-Peanut Butter flavor
The products were distributed nationwide by Slim-Fast. Specific details of the products are listed on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) www.fda.gov website. Consumers are being instructed to discard these products and contact the company at (877) 270-7393.
