LG to unveil Motion –Blur- Free LCD TV

Fast moving images on flat panel displays often cause blurring. The Trumotion 480 Hz that uses scanning backlight technology is helping eliminate the blur normally witnessed on flat panel televisions due to fast moving images.

At the Consumer Electronics Show to be held next month, LG Display would unveil this new product. With a 4-millisecond response time and exceptional speed of 480 refresh rate per second, blurs caused by fast moving images would be completely eliminated. Viewers can experience crystal clear images of racing cars, which typically cause a blurring motion on display panels.
The blurring is reduced largely because of the scanning backlight technology. This technology enables a backlight that can be turned off and on repeatedly, which helps reduce blurring. Viewers can have the satisfaction of viewing pictures that are more vivid because of a larger contrast between dark and light images. These latest televisions from LG are being showcased at CES to be held in Las Vegas from Jan.8-11. The display prices of the TV are yet to be released.
LCD TVs are very popular among people but the sales of the TVs have also taken a hit because of the economic downturn. ISuppli, a market researcher of products have released figures that have specified the reduction in the numbers of LCD TVs that have been shipped to the United States.

The year 2008 saw 93.4 million units sold against the expected 99 million units. This figure is further expected to fall from 124 million to 112.6 million in 2009. The decline in the average selling prices of the LCD Tvs has been contributing to its popularity.
