Cell phones raise cancer risk 5 times

Younger generation of today is in for trouble in future according to a Swedish research find. This alarming research says increased radiation effects from mobile phone usage puts youngsters at a high risk of various diseases.

Risk of brain cancer increases five fold especially in youngsters and small children due to usage of mobile phones according to the research. This study has put forth an alarming possibility that this generation may have to face an epidemic of this disease in future.
In Britain alone, ninety percent of sixteen year olds and forty percent of primary school children possess mobile phones. According to the MTHR or the Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research programme which is conducting this research, this issue should be given top priority. MTHR claims government has not taken any effort towards minimizing the use of mobile phones in youngsters in spite of repeated warnings.

This issue was addressed by the European parliament last week where 522 votes against 16 were in favor of addressing the issue of the vulnerability of children’s exposure to cordless phones, mobiles, Wi Fi and such devices. Radiation is said to penetrate deeper in growing children due to the small size of their brain, vulnerable nervous system and thin skulls.

According to Professor Lennart Hardell, head of one of the research studies onrisk of cancer caused by radiation, anyone who has started using mobile phones from before the age of 20 is at a high risk of being affected by ‘glioma’ which is a cancer affecting the glial cells in the central nervous system as well as by acoustic neuromas which causes deafness.
