The Democratic Party finally revealed the name of the one who has won the nomination to be the 44th president of the United States. The name is Barack Hussein Obama, who defeated the heavy names associated with the history of democratic part.
Barack Obama is the first African-American nominee elected by the Democratic Party for the presidential elections. All this has brought the anticipation to an end, that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton could be the first female president of the United States of America.
Regarding this, former President Bill Clinton had tried to ease the lingering animosity from the primary elections and said that“Last night Hillary told us in no uncertain terms that she is going to do everything she can to elect Barack Obama,” Mr. Clinton said. “That makes two of us.”
“I say to you: Barack Obama is ready to lead America and restore American leadership in the world,” Mr. Clinton said. “Barack Obama is ready to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Barack Obama is ready to be president of the United States.”
Delaware’s Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., choice for the vice president by Mr. Obama, gave a speech and accepted the nomination. In the speech he earnestly and frequently spoke about his blue-collar background.
Turning towards the Senator John McCain and referring to Mr. McCain as a friend he said ““I know you hear that phrase a lot in politics; I mean it,” and after that he gave a systematic and lengthy case regarding why McCain should not be the president.
